In this remodel, we essentially gave the entire house a facelift, including a new electrical service and 95% of the plumbing. The most interesting areas were the the kitchen and the basement (see before and after pictures here on page 2). In the kitchen we closed off a doorway to create more cabinet and counter space. The entire room was gutted down to the studs and we installed new sheetrock, electrical, cabinets, granite tile counters, sink, and appliances. Nigel even stripped the existing fir trim of several layers of paint and re-installed it with a clear finish. The basement was also a total remodel where we had to pour cement over new drain pipes, installed an egress window, framed and insulated the walls, and drywalled the entire space. It went from a dark and unuseable space to a bright living area with a full bath.
